Microsoft Windows XP Manual Upgrade instructions guide users of Microsoft Windows XP operating systems on upgrading their DNS settings to resolve the Next Generation Internet via the Public-Root system.
     
 
arrow1arrow arrow Go to Start and click on Control Panel.
   
arrow2arrow arrow In the Control Panel window click on Network and Internet Connections.
 
arrow3arrow Right-Click on your 'Local Area Connection' icon, and select 'Properties' from the menu presented
 
arrow4arrow In the "Local Area Connection Properties" applet, select "Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)" and click on the properties button.
 
arrow5arrow In the "Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) Properties" applet, check the radio button that says, "Use the following DNS server addresses" and enter the following IP addresses 84.22.106.30 and 84.22.100.9 or use public DNS servers that are closest to your geographical region.
 
arrow6arrow   Accept the changes by clicking on "OK" until all of the dialog boxes have closed and you are back to your desktop again.
